One idea for a comical animality: Kabal turns into the Road Runner, who ends up outrunning Wile E Coyote once again, so Wile E Coyote instead eats Kabal's opponent. Some could turn into otherwordly creatures, like Shao Kahn's Tygra from the last game's throne room stage. Not all the fighters should turn into terran animals, though. The former is what I heard first, and the lion roar always felt underwhelming by comparison.
